Certificate of Technical Studies in Avionics Print E-mail

The Certificate of Technical Studies in Avionics program is designed to take students with no aircraft experience and train them in four sections of Avionics which covers basic electronics theory and then advances to a hands-on focus on Avionics systems. It includes classroom and laboratory training in Aircraft Avionics, teaching you how to troubleshoot and repair communications systems, navigation systems, autopilot, collision avoidance systems, and more.

 

To receive this Certificate of Technical Studies in Avionics student must:

Care and Development of Young Children Technical Competency Area Certificate I & II

The Care and Development of Young Children Technical Competency Area Certificate I & II specifically designed to assist students with their current educational goals in working with young children either in workplace childcare settings or in home settings and to assist childcare employers in improving their star rating status in the Quality Rating System sponsored by the state of Louisiana.  Track I would aid student interested in applying for the national certification, the Child Development Associate (CDA).  Track II gives basic foundations for those students interested in opening their own daycare centers.  Both tracks contain courses that would improve a daycare center’s star rating as employees complete more education.

 

To receive this TCA in Care and Development of Young Children the student must:

  • Earn a “C” or better in each of the four courses;

Natural Resource Management

 

The General Science Associate of Science (AS in General Science)

The Natural Resource Management prepares BRCC students to transfer to natural resource ecology and management and forestry programs offered by baccalaureate degree-granting institutions. Students have the opportunity to pursue careers in areas such as ecological restoration, forest resource management, conservation biology, fisheries and aquaculture, natural resource conservation, wetland science, wildlife ecology, and wildlife law enforcement.

The Business Technology Associate of Applied Science (AAS) is specifically designed to meet the employment needs of the business community of the Greater Baton Rouge metropolitan area. This program of study is not intended for college transfer. It provides general education and work skills needed for employment. Besides the required courses, the Business Technology AAS curriculum students can choose two approved business-related electives. Students can design their own program of study to fit their needs and add emphasis in accounting, business, computer information systems, economics, finance, management, marketing, and real estate.

Transportation Security Administration Technical Competency Area

The TCA in Transportation Security provides the training and skills for effective public security. Homeland security, terrorism, protecting critical infrastructure, intelligence analysis, border security, and emergency and disaster preparedness concepts are covered.   Students completing the nine hours will receive a certificate of completion.
