Applying for Financial Aid and Completing Your FAFSA Print E-mail

 

Step 1: Apply for admission to Baton Rouge Community College.



Step 2: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. Both student and parent must apply for a PIN number which is used to electronically sign the FAFSA. Apply for a PIN number here. Please list the BRCC school code: 03730300 in section 6. The FAFSA must be completed annually and will be available January 1 of the award year. The priority deadline is April 1.



Step 3: Submit any additional documentation requested by the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships within two weeks of notification. This information can be found by logging into your LoLA account here.



Step 4: Monitor your award status by checking your LoLA account here.



Step 5: If you were awarded a Federal Direct Loan, you must complete entrance loan counseling and e-sign a Master Promissory Note at www.studentloans.gov. Your loan(s) will not be disbursed to your student account until these actions have been completed.



Step 6: To continue your eligibility for financial aid, you must meet BRCC’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards.
