Salzburg Global Seminar Print E-mail

This May, a select group of students from community colleges around the state will be traveling to Salzburg, Austria, to participate in the Salzburg Global Seminar’s International Study Program. The program is designed to provide participants with an intensive seven-day international experience.  Students will explore pressing issues of global concern and view them from a perspective both literally and figuratively outside the borders of the United States.

BRCC will be selecting up to two students to participate in this year’s program.  Students who are selected will be provided with round-trip travel to Salzburg, tuition, meals, and accommodations at Scholss Leopoldskron.  Students will be accompanied by LCTCS staff. Students who wish to apply must meet the following criteria:

  • First Year Full Time Student
  • Enrolled Full Time in Fall 2013 and Spring 2014
  • GPA of 3.25 or higher

Students interested in applying should review the official information material, which can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.  It includes frequently-asked questions, eligibility requirements, travel arrangements, a program of study, and a complete application packet.

Applications are due by Monday, March 17, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. in the Vice Chancellor’s office located on the second floor of Governor’s Building (room 200).  Applicants will participate in an on-campus interview with the selection committee.  Selection of the program participants will be based on the merits of the overall application.  Questions concerning the program should be directed to Rita Wilson, Administrative Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
