Welcome to the Division of Liberal Arts
The Division of Liberal Arts at Baton Rouge Community College provides students with a strong academic foundation in communication, critical thinking, creativity, and cultural understanding through programs in the humanities, fine arts, social sciences, communication, and English.
The division supports both transfer-focused and workforce-oriented pathways by preparing students for continued university study, professional careers, and engaged citizenship. Through innovative instruction, dual enrollment opportunities, experiential learning, and community partnerships, Liberal Arts helps students connect classroom learning to real-world application. The division also plays a central role in fostering student expression, academic exploration, and the vibrant intellectual and cultural life of the college.
