Canvas Update (May 8, 2026, 9:00 a.m.)

We are happy to report that Canvas is back up and running, and is now available once again for use. However, this is a developing situation that we will continue to follow closely, and we will share with you any changes or additional information we receive from LCTC or from Instructure and Canvas.

Please be cautious about contacting, responding to, or trusting outside sources about this matter. Please direct all questions to BRCC. We pledge to share with you all information that we receive and will only share confirmed information with you.

We know this disruption to Canvas came at a critical point in the semester as many of you are preparing for final exams, projects, and end-of-term assignments. Rest assured that your instructors will work with you to provide any flexibility and support that you need during this time. If you have any questions about your coursework, please contact your instructors. If you have any questions about Canvas, please contact the IT Helpdesk at 225-216-8448.

We will continue to monitor this incident, and if there are any further issues with Canvas or the company that operates it, we will keep you informed.
