Peer Tutor or Digital Literacy Technician
Apply to work in the Digital Learning and Academic Support Center (DLASC) as a peer academic tutor or a Digital Literacy Technician (DLT).
As an academic tutor, you will participate in a certified tutor training program and will learn about tutoring and learning. You will use your knowledge to support other students with tutoring requests.
Academic Tutor Qualifications
- Enrollment at BRCC, LSU, SELU, or Southern University
- Minimum of one (1) semester of coursework
- Minimum Overall 3.0 GPA
- A grade of A or B in the course desired to tutor
- One (1) letter of recommendation from a faculty member
- Letter should be provided by instructor of course desired to tutor
As a Digital Literacy Technician (DLT), you will have access to cutting-edge technology and learn how to operate a film production studio.
DLT Qualifications
- Enrollment at BRCC, LSU, SELU, or Southern University
- Minimum of one (1) semester of coursework
- Minimum Overall 2.5 GPA
- High-level of digital literacy proficiency, multimedia skills, and familiarity with platforms utilized by BRCC
- One (1) letter of recommendation from a faculty member
Front Desk Assistant
Front desk assistants play an important role in the operation of the center. They are the first point of contact for all entering or calling the center, and as such, they must possess excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills. They also help maintain the front desk area, provide information about center activities, and share administrative and maintenance concerns. Training is provided.
Front Desk Assistant Qualifications
- Enrollment at BRCC, LSU, SELU, or Southern University
- Minimum of one (1) semester of coursework
- Minimum Overall 2.5 GPA
- A high level of interpersonal, communication, and organization skills
- One (1) letter of recommendation from a faculty or staff member
