Paying for Classes with Financial Aid
Once you have been awarded financial aid and met all requirements, your awards will be authorized. All students are awarded based on full-time enrollment and the amount of funds authorized will be based on actual enrollment.
If your authorized financial aid funds cover all tuition and fees your classes will automatically be protected. If you have a balance after your financial aid has been authorized, you will be responsible for the difference.
If you do not plan to attend Baton Rouge Community College, it is your responsibility to drop the classes by the drop period deadline or you will be responsible for the tuition and fees.
You can see whether your funds have been authorized by checking your "Account Detail for Term" in your LoLA self-service account.
Book Advances with Financial Aid
You must have answered "yes" on the Title IV Authorization form on file to use a Book Advance to purchase books and supplies. The Bookstore will have information about the amount of financial aid you have available for books and will allow you to charge your bookstore purchase against the expected financial aid during the published dates. If you charge books and then are not eligible for the funding you will be responsible for any charges.
