The WorkReadyU program at Baton Rouge Community College is currently enrolling for its upcoming class sessions. The program is designed for individuals at least 18 years old and provides academic instruction and educational services that increase an individual’s ability to attain a high school equivalency (HSE) credential through preparation for the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET). Passing the HiSET shows that individuals have attained the academic knowledge and proficiency equivalent to those of a high school graduate.

WorkReadyU teaches skills needed for college and career success. The areas of emphasis are reading, writing, mathematics, and computer literacy. The program application period is open and free of charge to participants.

The BRCC WorkReadyU program is expanding opportunities by offering Integrated Career Pathways, a unique way for individuals to earn their HSE while also earning college credit towards an academic credential, diploma, or degree. BRCC is currently offering pathways in Skilled Crafts, Healthcare, Information Technology, and Transportation/Automotive Technology.

Coming Spring 2023, Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) will open enrollment.  BRCC offers the JAG program for students between the ages of 16 and 22 who have not graduated from high school.  By enrolling in the JAG program, these students work towards passing the HiSET to earn their high school equivalency. The program’s offerings are at the Acadian Site and virtual.
