Baton Rouge Community College’s (BRCC) Automotive Training program has earned ASE Training Program accreditation from the ASE Education Foundation (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) for Maintenance and Light Repair.
BRCC’s Automotive Training program recently underwent rigorous evaluation by the ASE Education Foundation. In achieving this prestigious recognition, the college’s automotive program had to meet nationally accepted standards of excellence in areas such as instruction, facilities, and equipment.
“During the past few months, we have worked closely with the ASE Education Foundation to ensure that our automotive program meets strict industry standards,” said BRCC Chancellor Dr. Willie E. Smith. “BRCC has one of the best training facilities in the nation, and obtaining ASE Training Program accreditation will give our students a significant advantage upon graduating and entering the workforce.”
The ASE Education Foundation is a non-profit, independent organization that evaluates and accredits entry-level technician training programs against standards developed by the automotive industry.
“This is great news for automotive-minded young people and their parents,” said Michael Coley, ASE Education Foundation President. “Because this program increases cooperation between local education and industry leaders, it gives added assurance that BRCC’s graduates will be employable entry-level technicians. As a result of the quality education provided by BRCC, the motoring public will benefit since better repair technicians will join the workforce.”
BRCC’s McKay Automotive Training Center is an 83,000 square-foot state-of-the-art training facility that opened in 2017 on Ardendale Blvd. in Baton Rouge. The site provides training in Automotive Technology, Diesel Heavy Truck Technology, and Auto Body Repair courses. The ASE Educational Foundation accreditation highlights BRCC’s dedication to providing its students with top-tier automotive training and enhancing their career readiness in the automotive industry.
