Social Media Guidelines
For Content Ideas, Remember the "Three P's"
1. People
Highlight current students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Prospective students want to see who they will learn from and how others succeed.
2. Programs
Showcase areas of study, degrees, and pathways to success. Content should focus on the academic value we offer.
3. Places
Feature buildings, labs, and campus events. Visuals of our spaces appeal to prospective students and donors alike.
Creating High-Impact Posts
- Mission AlignmentAlways ask: "Does this promote BRCC as the preferred provider of talent?"
- Video & Photos FirstShort videos and clear photos gain more reach. Avoid using graphics (text-on-image) when possible.
- Keep it PunchyText captions should be short and engaging. Avoid blurry or small images.
ADA & Accessibility
Federal laws require our content to be accessible to everyone. Failure to comply impacts screen reader users.
Must have captions (auto or manual).
Must include Alt Text descriptions.
Every account represents the college. Consistency strengthens the BRCC brand.
- Profile Picture: Should contain the official BRCC logo.
- Cover Photo: Use high-quality campus imagery.
- Logo Integrity: Never distort, stretch, or alter the official logo.
During emergencies (e.g., weather events), follow these protocols to avoid confusion:
- Official Messages Only: Share official college posts; do not alter the messaging.
- Pause Content: Stop scheduled celebratory posts during a crisis.
- Monitor: Watch comments closely to correct false rumors.
