The BRCC Department of Public Safety maintains a comprehensive list of all Campus Security Authorities (CSAs). If an employee has been designated as a CSA at the College, they receive an email from KnowBe4 (BRCC’s learning management system & training platform), which gives them access to the CSA Training Course. Each year, the Department of Public Safety sends out emails to various departments, including, but not limited to, Athletics, Student Clubs/Organizations, Dean of Students, Human Resources, and other relevant departments when needed.
Public Safety requests that these departments provide a current list of names of those fitting the criteria of a CSA (specified in the email). This includes employees, volunteers, and students who fit the description of a CSA.
Once Public Safety receives the lists from the various departments, they update the current list of CSAs accordingly. After updating the list, Public Safety notifies new CSAs that they have been identified as a CSA and are required to take the training, via an email from KnowBe4 with access to the Training Course. Public Safety also notifies continuing CSAs annually, reminding them of their responsibilities and offering the opportunity to review the training course.
