North Baton Rouge Industrial Training Initiative Open House
Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) and ExxonMobil are excited to announce the upcoming open house for the North Baton Rouge Industrial Training Initiative (NBRITI). This event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 9, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the BRCC Acadian Campus, located at 3250 N. Acadian Thruway.
As NBRITI prepares to welcome its eleventh cohort this year, it is also broadening its educational offerings to include process technology training. The new addition joins the existing skilled craft programs offered in electrical, instrumentation, millwright, pipefitting, and welding. All programs are offered at no cost to qualifying participants. Upon completion, individuals will be equipped with the skills needed for immediate employment in high-demand industries.
“We are delighted to partner with ExxonMobil and open our doors once again to the community for the North Baton Rouge Industrial Training Initiative Open House,” said BRCC Chancellor Dr. Willie E. Smith, Sr. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for individuals to see firsthand the resources and training available through NBRITI. We are committed to helping our community and local region thrive by providing skilled professionals to meet the demands of the local workforce.”
“ExxonMobil continues to support expanding Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) knowledge in the communities in which we operate. Partnering with Baton Rouge Community College to assist in equipping the future workforce with the skills needed to be successful within our Industry is one of several ways ExxonMobil supports STEM education. The expansion into Process Technology underscores our continued commitment to comprehensive workforce development,” said Regina Davis, ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Refinery Manager.
During the open house, attendees will have the opportunity to tour classrooms and labs, meet instructors, and speak with current students and program alumni. Information sessions about the application process, program requirements, and future start dates will also be available.
BRCC and ExxonMobil are proud to continue this initiative, which has successfully trained over 550 individuals since its inception in 2012. Graduates of the NBRITI program receive nationally recognized certifications from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and the American Welding Society (AWS), positioning them for successful careers in the industrial sector.
Registration for the open house is encouraged. Interested participants can register and find more information by visiting www.mybrcc.edu/nbriti.
