Receiving Department Mission
The mission of the Receiving Department is to prepare, receive, and deliver inbound and outbound packages in a timely and accurate manner. The department communicates effectively with College departments regarding receiving orders and deliveries. Please note, shipments are not opened unless items require tagging.
Delivery Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (excluding staff holidays or when the College is closed).
Responsibilities for Receiving and Shipping
Outgoing Packages
- Properly package the item to be shipped.
- Ensure there is a valid return label on the package.
- All packages will go out with regular delivery drivers (UPS, FedEx).
Incoming Packages
- Inspect package deliveries for damage upon receiving. Report damage within 1 working day to the Purchasing Department.
- Contact Facility Services to place a work order for heavy/bulky items.
- Provide an "ok to pay" to Accounts Payable after confirming order completeness.
- Contact Property Control to tag moveable items valued at $1000 or more.
