Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) is committed to providing a website and digital services that are accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities.
BRCC strives to ensure that its web content conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, as well as applicable federal and state accessibility requirements, including Section 504 and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. BRCC actively works to identify and address accessibility barriers through a combination of automated and manual testing, including evaluation with assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard navigation.
Our Approach
BRCC’s accessibility efforts include:
- Designing and maintaining accessible website templates and components
- Conducting regular accessibility evaluations and remediation activities
- Integrating accessibility into content publishing workflows
- Providing training and guidance for faculty and staff who create digital content
- Reviewing third-party tools and services for accessibility considerations where feasible
Known Limitations
While BRCC strives to ensure accessibility across all digital content, some limitations may exist, particularly in:
- Legacy content created prior to current accessibility standards
- Third-party systems or applications not fully controlled by BRCC
BRCC is actively working to address these areas and improve accessibility over time.
