BATON ROUGE – If you want to work in the music industry, Baton Rouge Community College has the program for you. Starting in the Spring 2026 semester, BRCC is offering audio recording and engineering courses as part of the music studio production career and technical certificate program.

Spots are still available for Spring 2026 classes, so anyone who is interested can visit https://mybrcc.edu/academics/liberal-arts/musicstudio.php for more information or contact BRCC professor Dr. Scott Nelson, Instructor of Music and Recording Technology, by email at nelsons@mybrcc.edu to learn more.

All audio recording and engineering courses are held in BRCC’s in-house audio recording studio located on the Mid City campus. This immersive environment ensures students learn on professional-grade equipment in a real-world setting.

The music studio production program only takes three semesters to complete.

Students who earn a career and technical certificate in music studio production will be proficient in acoustics, microphone selection and placement, audio capture and the post-production process.
