BRCC Breaks Freshman Enrollment Record

More than 2,700 first-year students enrolled in Fall 2025 to set the new record.

A total of 2,722 first-year students enrolled at Baton Rouge Community College for the Fall 2025 semester, establishing a new record, and bringing the fall enrollment up to 11,402.

The previous record for first-year students was 2,501 set last year in the Fall 2024 semester.

“The record-breaking first-year class speaks volumes about the Baton Rouge Community College mission of being the preferred provider of talent for a global marketplace,” BRCC Chancellor Willie E. Smith Sr. said. “Whether these students pursue an associate degree, technical diploma or industry-based certification, BRCC is setting these students up for success in high-demand, high-wage jobs.”

The total fall enrollment of 11,402 is the second highest in college history, only trailing the Fall 2024 enrollment of 11,563.
