Ten-Plus Speakers Will Discuss a Variety of Mental Health Topics at the Mid City Campus

BATON ROUGE – Baton Rouge Community College is hosting the “Trauma 2 Resiliency” Mental Health Conference Nov. 12 in the Magnolia Building Theater located on the Mid City campus.

The one-day event is open to all high school students in the BRCC Dual Enrollment Programs, BRCC TRIO Upward Bound students and all BRCC students. The conference is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and go until 3 p.m. with more than 10 speakers lined up to engage attendees on topics such as mental health, stress, anxiety, depression, social media influence, trauma & math, violence and bullying.

Local artist and speaker **A.V. Mitchell** will serve as host, and **DJ Jarrett** of Southern University will provide music throughout the event.

Additional Conference Highlights

The winners of the “Trauma 2 Resiliency” essay contest will be announced during the event, including the $2,500 scholarship first prize winner.

Door prizes will also be handed out throughout the event.

Mandatory Requirement: Parental consent is a mandatory requirement for any high school student planning to attend, and dual enrollment administrators can assist with this process.
