BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Community College and ExxonMobil are pleased to invite the community to the open house for the North Baton Rouge Industrial Training Initiative (NBRITI) Tuesday, April 21, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the BRCC Acadian Campus located at 3250 N. Acadian Thruway.
Following the open house, applications for the 13th cohort will be accepted through May 31, with interviews scheduled during the summer, and classes beginning on August 31.
NBRITI continues to offer comprehensive training in critical skills areas such as electrical, instrumentation, millwright, pipefitting, process technology, and welding all at no cost to participating students. These programs are designed to equip participants with essential skills for immediate employment in high-demand industries.
“Our collaboration with ExxonMobil enables us to open up life-changing opportunities for the community through the North Baton Rouge Industrial Training Initiative,” said BRCC Chancellor Dr. Willie E. Smith, Sr. “This program is more than workforce training — it’s a testament to our belief in the potential of people. It reflects our deep commitment to not only growing the local and regional economy, but also to empowering individuals, strengthening families, and transforming lives through education and opportunity.”
"ExxonMobil is proud to support the North Baton Rouge Industrial Training Initiative. This program not only provides participants with vital skills for high-demand industries but also fosters community growth and development,” said Meg Mahoney, ExxonMobil’s Manager of Public and Government Affairs. “We are committed to empowering individuals through education and workforce training, paving the way for a brighter future for Baton Rouge."
During the open house, prospective students will have the opportunity to tour the facilities, meet with instructors, and engage with current students and graduates of the program. There will also be sessions to discuss the application process, program details, and upcoming session dates.
Since its inception, NBRITI has successfully prepared over 600 individuals for skilled positions in the industrial workforce. Graduates receive nationally recognized certifications, which significantly increase their employment prospects within the sector.
