BATON ROUGE – Baton Rouge Community College, in partnership with ExxonMobil, graduated more than 100 students from the no-cost North Baton Rouge Industrial Training Initiative (NBRITI) on Tuesday, June 23, in BRCC’s Magnolia Theatre located on the Mid City campus.
The ceremony recognized students from electrical, instrumentation, millwright, pipefitting and welding disciplines as well as process technology graduates who are trained to work in Louisiana’s many refineries and chemical plants.
Graduates of NBRITI’s craft programs earn industry-recognized credentials through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), while process technology graduates receive a certificate of completion in process technology support technician from BRCC.
BRCC was pleased to welcome Susana (Susie) Schowen, Secretary of Louisiana Works, as the keynote speaker for the graduation ceremony.

Since its inception in 2012, the NBRITI program provides tuition-free training for north Baton Rouge residents to help them obtain careers in high-demand skilled crafts. The training is based at BRCC’s Acadian Campus and is designed to recruit, train, develop and sustain a pipeline for north Baton Rouge residents to have successful careers with local industry partners and employers.
