Baton Rouge Community College, in partnership with ExxonMobil, will graduate more than 90 students from the North Baton Rouge Industrial Training Initiative (NBRITI) at a graduation ceremony Tuesday, June 24, at 6 p.m.
The ceremony will be held at BRCC’s Magnolia Theatre, located at 201 Community College Drive on the Mid City campus.
Media are invited to attend. Parking is available near the theatre.
The ceremony will recognize students from electrical, instrumentation, millwright, pipefitting, and welding disciplines. And for the first time, the NBRITI program will graduate Process Technology Support Technicians at the ceremony. Process Technology graduates are trained to work in Louisiana’s many refineries and chemical plants.
Graduates will receive National Center for Construction Education and Research certifications, and welding graduates will receive parallel certifications from the American Welding Society. Graduates will also receive a certificate of completion from BRCC.
The NBRITI program provides tuition-free training for North Baton Rouge residents to help them obtain careers in high-demand skilled crafts. The training is based at BRCC's Acadian Campus and is designed to recruit, train, develop and sustain a pipeline for North Baton Rouge residents to have successful careers with local industrial employers.
