AWS Welding Program (YCOS 8507)
The AWS Welding Program prepares students for entry-level careers in the welding and fabrication industry through hands-on training aligned with industry standards established by the American Welding Society (AWS). Students develop skills in welding safety, blueprint reading, metal preparation, and multiple welding processes, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW). Through extensive lab training, participants gain practical experience performing welds commonly used in construction, manufacturing, shipbuilding, and industrial settings. Upon completion, graduates are prepared for employment as welders, fabricators, and welding helpers and have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized AWS credentials.
