Cosmetology Instructor Program

The Cosmetology Instructor 500-Hour Academy at Baton Rouge Community College is designed for licensed Louisiana cosmetologists with at least 12 months of active practice who are ready to transition from behind the chair to the classroom. This 500-hour program prepares participants to teach future beauty professionals through training in instructional methods, lesson planning, teaching demonstrations, classroom and clinic-floor management, student assessment, and support. Participants will also review Louisiana cosmetology laws, professional standards, and instructor certification requirements. The program provides experienced cosmetologists with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career in cosmetology education.
