Certificate of General Studies
The Certificate of General Studies program provides students with a broad foundation in general education. It is designed for students who plan to transfer to a baccalaureate degree-granting institution or for those seeking a well-rounded education.
Completion of the Certificate of General Studies ensures that the student has met the general education requirements for most receiving Louisiana public universities. Graduates who transfer will have the foundational coursework necessary to pursue further studies in various fields.
Students should carefully note the Exclusionary Courses listed in the General Education Requirements section – some courses are exclusive to each other and cannot both be taken for credit (e.g., MATH 1113 and 1213).
